Civil War Presentation At County Elementary Schools
For the second year the Tavern Museum sponsored a presentation on the Civil War by Ms. Carol Lowry to the 4th grade classes at Lawson-Marriott Elementary and King & Queen Elementary on March 20 and 21 respectively. After providing overall background, Ms. Lowry made the era come alive using national and state historical facts, accounts of local events, artifacts from her family, period clothing, toys, and music. The interactive presentation kept the students involved throughout. The clothing was a great hit.
