Please join us at the King & Queen Co. Historical Society Meeting Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the New Court House Building, King & Queen Court House, VA 23085.

The program “Imagining History: Publishing Your Own Story” will be presented by Dawn Chappell Shank, an artist, educator, museum docent, and “River Girl.” She lives on the Mattaponi River and will speak about researching and writing her newly published book, River Stone, a time-travel fictional account of a young girl who visits her grandparents on Garnett’s Mill Creek. The story line is inspired by previous Historical Society programs and illuminated with information she found in the archaeological exhibits and archives of the Tavern Museum.
